Having never before kept a personal blog, this is going to
be an experiment for my communication skills, which are, admittedly, pretty
poor. So, I turned to my good friend Google for advice,
and went to where you can find all the best, original tips: page 10 and beyond (you
forgot that there were results after the first page, didn’t you?). Here are
some sound words of wisdom from tried and true bloggers:
Find a unique blogging topic-if the story of a blonde
haired, blue eyed gringa in Chile is unique, than I am off to a good start
Post consistently-Considering this is my second week here
and I am just getting to my first post, this one isn’t looking so hot
Be interesting-That’s easy, I find myself tremendously
interesting
I also learned that virtually all tips on how to blog are
the same, no matter their source, even if they’re on page 14 of Google results
(fun side note: my Google search engine automatically switched to Spanish when
I got here. Now I “Buscar con Google”)
Any tips on personability and personal hygiene can be found in this video:
So, with these nuggets of advice, I shall proceed to cover
everything I can about my adventures here. Unfortunately, I can make no
promises as to consistency, punctuality, uniformity, coherency, relevancy, or
any other synonym to those words that you may think up. However, I hope that by
the end of my 5 months here, I will have a fresh perspective and appreciation
for Chilean culture and travel, I will be able to effectively and efficiently
speak Chilean Spanish, and that I will walk away with some incredible stories
and new relationships.
¡Vamos a Chile!
